Clark Strand has been writing poetry for over 50 years and teaching haiku professionally since 1990. In 1996 he created the world’s first comprehensive online English-language kukai group, where poets from around the world could come together to share haiku. A former senior editor of Tricycle: The Buddhist Review, he has served as the magazine’s haiku columnist since 2021.

Strand is the author of many books, including The Way of the Rose, Waking the Buddha, Now Is the Hour of Her Return, and Waking Up to the Dark. His writings have appeared in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post. He lives in Woodstock, New York.
